Central Texas Hunting Lodge
At Rock Creek Ranch, we offer on-site Lodging at both of our Central Texas hunting ranch locations. The first of the two Hunting Lodge sites is Rock Creek Ranch Headquarters just North of Llano, Texas. The second Hunting Lodge of the two locations is Rock Creek Ranch North which is located just North of Copperas Cove, Texas.
The Llano Hunting Lodge
The Llano Hunting Lodge at Rock Creek Ranch is comprised of three lodges and is located 75 miles north west of Austin, Texas near Llano, Texas, “The Deer Capital of Texas”. The Rock Creek Ranch Hunting lodge is located just north of the town of Llano near Valley Spring, Texas, off of Highway 71.
Nestled along a red dirt road, among some of the world’s most exotic animals, is Rock Creek Ranch’s Headquarters which is a 100 year old farm house with a wrap around porch, four bedroom, 3 bathroom rustic getaway. Headquarters sleeps 8 comfortably, all housing is equipped with WiFi. The porch is big enough to two–step your way around or gaze at the wonderful view of Babay Head Mountain facing east. Steps away from the house, is a relaxing white limestone fireplace built for smores and the perfect bonfire to wrap up your evening of hunts or safari for the day.
The Hide Out Hunting Lodge
Across the way, you will find The Hide Out Hunting Lodge, in walking distance to the Headquarters, where the horses may walk up and greet you. It encompasses a full entertaining area equipped with shuffleboard, TV, lounge area, and full kitchen. Outside, a western style bar on the patio is a great place to watch your favorite game on the outside tv, play horseshoes or enjoy relaxing by the firepit.
The Lake House Hunting Lodge
More coveted lodging on the ranch are the Lake Houses, located down in one of Rock Creek Ranch’s valleys. Three adjacent cabins situated near the water are accompanied by an outdoor firepit. They are perfectly fit for bass fishing, paddle boating, and picnicking on the dock. Each cabin consists of two queen beds, a full bathroom, and a kitchen. These cabins have 180 degree water views and ample porches to take in the surrounding beauty. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing evening, this is your perfect hill country escape!
The beautiful town of Llano is home to the Llano River offering kayaking, fishing, swimming, Llano’s Wild West Weekend in October, a county chuck wagon cook off and Llano Earth and Art Festival in March. Llano also offers BBQ from Coopers Barbeque and in April the Llano Crawfish Boil. Rock Creek Ranch boasts convenient locations to from Fredericksburg, Texas, well known for its German culture, Oktoberfest, wineries, art galleries, exquisite dining, and boutique shopping.
The national park Enchanted Rock is halfway between Llano and Fredericksburg is one of Texas most beautiful state parks. The massive pink granite dome rising above in central Texas has brought people for years to the scenery, to hike, backpack, camp, this is a great attraction only minutes from the Ranch.
The Copperas Cove Hunting Lodge
The Copperas Cove Hunting Lodge at Rock Creek Ranch is located 80 miles north west of Austin, Texas. Lampasas is located 25 miles from the ranch and offers dining, shopping, and is a popular stop along Highway 281. Colorado Bend State Park is another hiking attraction and is the beautiful home to the beauty of Gorman Falls, or you can cool off in Spicewood Springs.
The Copperas Cove Hunting Lodge is located at Rock Creek Ranch North which is located near Copperas Cove, Texas. This ranch has been in the Franz family since 1968. Initially a cattle ranch, but since 1990 the emphasis has been on trophy whitetail deer and exotic hunting.
A hour north of Austin and on to a dirt road two miles back across the ranches rolling hills you will find Headquarters sitting along beautiful Table Rock Creek. Rock Creek Ranch’s Copperas Cove Lodge is a Four-bedroom, Two Bathroom Hunting Lodge, with a Pool table, Full kitchen, TV, and backyard Patio. One Master Bedroom, with Separate Bath, and three rooms with two beds and one bath can sleep eight people comfortably.
You can kick your boots back and enjoy a nice beverage on the patio or you can enjoy the ambiance of water trickling down the creek. Steps away from the house is a relaxing fire pit, where you can gaze at the stars and enjoy a great Texas evening. In addition to hunting we offer hiking, off road bike trails, fishing, and photo safaris.
