Whitetail Deer Hunting in Central Texas
Whitetail Deer are native to Central Texas; at Rock Creek Ranch, we take pride in raising natural Hill Country whitetail. The whitetail deer have been under strict management since the beginning of our hunting operation in 1990. We offer whitetail deer hunts for any size mature buck from 115 inches all the way up to 200 inches SCI. Whitetail deer hunting is available at all locations.
You may hunt our Trophy Whitetail Deer at Rock Creek Ranch using any method you prefer; bow or crossbow hunts, rifle, spot and stalk, pistol, ground blind, or safari style hunting out of a vehicle. Depending on weather and habitat conditions at the time of your hunt this may change.
Whitetail Deer Facts and Hunting Information
Texas Whitetail Deer Hunting Season: Rock Creek Ranch has an MLD permit that extends our whitetail season further than what most ranches are allowed. September 29th – February 28th (archery-rifle)

Through proper management techniques, supplementation, and predator control, we are able to offer Trophy Whitetail Deer that any hunter will be proud of. Whitetail Deer Hunting Season will start in late September and will roll into late February thanks to the MLD program. The Texas Rut changes from season to season but is typically strong in November to late December. It is usually around this time when we utilize rattling techniques on our whitetail hunts. We recommend booking early to increase your chances of reserving specific hunt dates, as this is our busiest time of the year and we do book up quickly.
Typical Weekend Hunt at Rock Creek Ranch
Arrival
- Check in at 1 pm, guest registration and orientation, sight in at the shooting range, afternoon guided hunt. Followed by cocktails, appetizers, and a full dinner.
Full Day
- Continental Breakfast, morning hunt, followed by full breakfast. Typically go back out and scout for animals have lunch and go back out for the evening hunt, followed by cocktails, fire, appetizers, and a full dinner.
Departure
- Continental Breakfast, morning hunt, and then Departure.

Our Whitetail Deer Hunt Package Pricing includes two factors, All-Inclusive fee plus Trophy fee

All-Inclusive Fee for 2-nights, 3-days = $1,050 ($525 per night)
Plus Trophy fee ($4,000)

All-Inclusive Fee of $525 per night includes:

* Taxidermy delivery for processing and mounting is available for a fee
* Gratuities are appreciated and are not included in above pricing.
Average gratuities are 10-25% of the total hunt. Tipping guides, cooks, and skinners is appreciated.
Not included: Texas hunting licenses

Deposit for Hunt: $2,000
- Deposit is due upon booking and balance paid in full before leaving ranch.
- Deposits are non-refundable, but as long as you notify us prior to 30 days before your scheduled hunt date, you can reschedule your hunt within the next twelve months at no additional charge, based on availability.
